I had been considering a pb edition of Tales From the Black Dog, and after some nudging from outside I had decided to see if it was possible. Turns out it isn’t. The minimum (physical) page count to make a pb of anything is 24. While the book has 28 pages of material, it all fits on only 16 physical pages.
So. Upshot is, the pb isn’t happening. I was even doing (obviously) made-up quotes for the back cover. That was fun, but it’s a no-go. A little bummed about it now, but that’s the way things stand.
FWIW, I did do a dramatization of the story “Star Light, Star Bright” on YT. Follow the link if you’re curious.
Well, look on the bright side. You only need to write about eight more physical pages of Black Dog stories, and you can still do your paperback! I know the prospect of so much more good stuff will be a sore tribulation to your readers, but I think we’re capable of making the sacrifice… And if that’s not in the cards, there’s still the ebook!
